Community Leagues are ImportantEdmonton Community Benefit Program

The strength of the community can help build the nature and character of the individual. Studies show that when groups of people come together in work and play a sense of connectedness, esteem and hope emerge as a result. The City of Edmonton Community Services says that community gatherings provide the opportunity for neighbours to know one another, to increase a sense of belonging and to build relationships.

It is not possible to overstate these simple truths. In fact, prospective homebuyers are advised to ascertain the strength of the community league in areas in which they plan to purchase property. A strong and active community league is considered a sign of a strong and growing community.

What The Event Coordinators (TEC) Have to Offer:

  • Increased Rental Revenues Halls with which we have had the privilege to have become involved have experienced revenue increases from 70% to 90% after just over one year to over 300% after five years and  over 400% after that.

  • Reduced Impact on Volunteers and More Money for Programs – Efforts can be redirected towards community programs and community enhancement. In addition, the increase in funds available to communities can be directed towards increasing the scale or number of programs and/or activities. In short, volunteers have more flexibility and are not forced to deal with as many mundane and taxing details.

  • Reduction in Vandalism – Your building will become busier if you wish. Buildings that sit empty for periods of time are ripe for vandalism. Where there is activity, vandals tend not to linger.

  • Client Event Administration – The Event Coordinators (TEC) offer complete and cost effective event planning services. Clients are free to use as many or as few of our services as they require. They are also free to be completely independent if they wish.

  • Iron Clad Rental Contracts – With the aid of our lawyer, we have created a comprehensive rental contract that can be adjusted to suit the needs of any community. This contract has undergone many revisions over the years to cover any eventuality that may arise.

  • Marketing – TEC will provide aggressively marketed Internet exposure for community facilities on our web site. This site will offer clients capabilities not experienced on any other site of their type in the Edmonton area. The significance of a website should not be overlooked; every year a larger part of the market will do the majority of their shopping on-line.

Our Mandate

  • To increase the funding available to communities and their residents for community functions thereby facilitating…

  • The promotion of community as an extended family support group through greater exposure of neighbours to one another.

(Please note that TEC is limiting the number of community leagues that will be accepted into our program at any given time. This is to ensure the continuance of smoothly run operations and seamless incorporation of new inclusions).

We look forward to combining our efforts with yours in working towards the creation of stronger communities.
